The Story Behind Writing My First Guest Post
Recently I was asked by the folks at Discover Pressgram if I would write up a post about using Pressgram for Real Estate. I was excited and couldn’t wait to start putting it together. After all, I had been using the app since it’s release and got to participate in the Kickstarter program for it!
When I started putting together the post, version 2.0 of Pressgram hadn’t been released yet. Even though I knew version 2.0 would be coming soon, I decided to at least get the main bones of it together.
Right as I was finishing up the piece, Pressgram announced that 2.0 was in the iOS app store awaiting review. After seeing tidbits of what was coming, I began mentally preparing myself to give my piece an overhaul that is in-line with the new update.
Use Details That Went Into The Article
After using and becoming familiar with version 2.0 of the app, I felt comfortable making the necessary tweaks to the article before submitting it. I tried to keep it simple and brief, so that I can get the main point across that it is a great tool to use in the real estate industry. I even mentioned at the end of the article that the app would be great for other real estate related professionals, whether stagers, flip-contractors, or landscapers etc…There is zero excuse to not generate visual content.
I made sure to include the details about how after I share a photo to our wordpress blog, I go into the post and add more content to it. Since we are using it in a “business” sense, we are trying to keep visitors on our blog and are looking for conversions. I might add in some more detailed content, call-to-action, or a link to a specific property. This sets up another round of social sharing that I can schedule with Buffer.
Thoughts on Pressgram 2.0
I have to say, version 2.0 is amazing and my entire process has become significantly more streamlined. I purchased the year long premium pack so that I can have all of the features I need in one app. That includes more editing capabilities and adding text on top of photos. The whole process is more streamlined when I am able to use a single app! The update also helps me save time and easily share to multiple social networks. I really hope to see Facebook pages and Google + pages be supported in the future!
I am going to keep using Pressgram in my business, and work on developing new ways to use it to our advantage. I have a lot of ideas on how I want to use it to achieve more interaction on our blog. The new ability to add multiple photos to a post is going to be extremely beneficial. One of my hopes is that with future listings my team does, I can do a series of Pressgram posts to tell stories about the home. I find that to be a great reason to blog more about our listing, and have google see us be the authority of that residence.
I loved creating a piece for Discover Pressgram, and hopefully the opportunity arises again in the future. I would jump at the chance to do it again!
