The title above really says it all. But let me explain this thought that I often experience in my career, even thought it is early on in my journey.
Yesterday we met with some buyer clients of ours, and did a “final walkthrough,” of a home they are purchasing. They are closing within a couple days, so it is common to walk through a few days before closing to verify the condition of the property and double check how things work (sprinklers and other things).
Our clients are a young, soon-to-be-married couple that are buying their very first home. That is exciting all on its own!
But the fact that we are in a position to help others make their dreams come true is extremely rewarding. Given the current market, there were times that they surely felt a little frustration in their search. We finally came across the right piece of real estate, and they are so excited to close this upcoming week.
This is a very rewarding thing to experience. The idea of buying a home with all of the searching, viewings, contracts, inspections and so on can be daunting. Especially for first time home buyers. Being in this position to help with that process, and see the joy on their faces at the end of the process is incredible.
We spent some time at the property yesterday discussing their moving plans, and how soon they were going to start moving in. Even with that discussion, their faces lit up with joy and happiness to have found a home together. Even though apparently they have different views on which sofa to purchase! 🙂
I can’t wait for closing day, and to hand them their keys to their first home. Those moments are the ones that make my job so rewarding. It’s amazing to play this kind of a role in the lives of others. And honestly, it is incredibly motivating. Being in this position, and seeing such happiness makes me feel like I am in a great profession and inspires me to continue doing this work for others.
